Armenia to hand over minefield maps of some districts to Azerbaijan

BAKU: As reported earlier, a meeting of commissions on the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border has started, Trend reports, referring to the local media (AzTv). At the meeting, it is planned to transfer maps of minefields of three districts from Armenia to Azerbaijan. To note, the meeting is held between delegations headed by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. Heydar Aliyev Center to open exhibition of works by Kojo Marfo

BAKU: Heydar Aliyev Center is preparing to exhibit a collection of works characterized by vivid colors, creating a pleasant and festive atmosphere for viewers, Trend reports. More than 20 pieces by artist Kojo Marfo will be showcased at the "Crucible of Hope" exhibition, which will open on February 14. Kojo Marfo is a Ghanaian artist living in London. His interest in art and visual culture was sparked by traditional antiques, sculptures, and carved Akan figurines he encountered during his boyhood in Ghana. Marfo's work also mirrors the insights he gathered from his travels, where he encountered various cultures. The pieces on display at Heydar Aliyev Center combine the Ghanaian artist's youthful dreams with the reality of the current world. His artwork addresses social issues and seeks solutions to modern dilemmas. Kojo Marfo sees art mainly as a way to communicate, enabling him to tap into an expanding reservoir of creativity and ideas. Deadline for applications to observe presidential election in Azerbaijan expires

BAKU: The deadline for submitting applications to the District Election Commission to monitor the voting process within the designated election district for the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan, set for February 7, expires tomorrow, Trend reports, referring to the "Election 2024' Independent Media Center. According to the Electoral Code, any Azerbaijani citizen with active voting rights, whether on their own initiative or on behalf of a registered candidate, political party, political party bloc, or non-governmental organization engaged in election-related activities, must submit an application for observation within the constituency's territory to the District Election Commission of the respective election district. This application process begins on the day of the election announcement and continues until five days before the scheduled election date. In light of the extraordinary presidential election, this application submission period extends until February 2, 2024. On December 7, 2023, Pre sident of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree calling for an extraordinary presidential election in the country on February 7, 2024. On December 19, the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) approved the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev, nominated by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), for participation in the extraordinary presidential election. Iran quits visa regime with dozens of nations

BAKU: Nationals of 28 countries can visit Iran as tourists without a visa as of February 4, 2024, said Alireza Bikdeli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran for Consular Affairs, Trend reports. According to Bikdeli, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran announced the cancellation of the visa regime for all relevant institutions in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Iran dated December 13, 2023. Bikdeli added that among the 28 countries, only Indian citizens will have to obtain a visa while visiting Iran by land, not by air. The deputy minister noted that citizens of the other 27 countries will be able to visit Iran without a visa.
