Militia officers revealed several facts of thefts

A 34-year-old resident of the Dusti district turned to the Department of the MIA in the Dusti district, stating that on the night of January of 1 to 2, 2022, at about 00:50 a.m., unknown persons had taken three heads of cattle from the barn of a residential building and disappeared.
The damage caused amounted to 30 thousand, 450 somoni.
As a result of operational-search measures, militia officers detained a 33-year-old local resident on suspicion of cattle theft.
Also, a 64-year-old local resident made a statement to the Department MIA in the Dzhaikhun district, stating that on the night of December 12-13 of this year, at about 01:20 am, an unknown person stole two batteries from his car and fled in an unknown direction.
The amount of damage was 3 thousand somoni.
When carrying out operational-search measures, militia officers detained two 18-year-old local residents on suspicion of committing this crime.
It was also established that the aforementioned persons stole two batteries from a 34-year-old resident of the Dzhaikhun district from the car and disappeared from the spot of the crime.
The amount of damage was 3 thousand somoni.
An investigation is underway on these facts.

President Emomali Rahmon Exchanges New Year Greetings with Russian President Putin Over Phone

On January 3, 2022 the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

During the conversation, the counterparts exchanged warm New Year’s greetings.

They continued their discussion on some issues on bilateral cooperation to follow up on their meeting in St. Petersburg on December 27, 2021.

The two sides reaffirmed their intention to strengthen the relations between Tajikistan and Russia.

CCTV Shows a Video on Cooperation Between China and Tajikistan

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tajikistan, the Chinese Central Television (CCTV) showed a video about cooperation between the two countries. The video, about three minutes long, containing informational materials, has already gained more than 300,000 views on the CCTV website.

The video tells that 30 years ago China was one of the first to recognize the independence of Tajikistan and establish diplomatic relations with it. About the fact that mutual trust lies at the heart of the Chinese-Tajik comprehensive strategic partnership, thanks to which the two brotherly countries have turned a common border 495 kilometers long into a bond of friendship between our peoples.

Tajikistan was the first to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with China to jointly promote the creation of the Silk Road Economic Belt. A joint committee for cooperation has been created, and a number of major landmark joint projects are being implemented.

The launch of the Yovon-Vahdat railway tunnel connected the railways of Tajikistan from north to south. The Dushanbe CHP plant has left behind a shortage of electricity in the capital during the winter.

Completion of the construction of a 500 kW power transmission line in the districts of republican subordination has increased the stability and safety of the power grid in the north of Tajikistan.

Successfully implemented projects, including a cement plant, an oil refinery, an agrarian textile industrial park, and a mining and metallurgical industrial park, have become a new driver on the road to the industrialization of Tajikistan.

China is the largest investor and main trading partner of Tajikistan. The trade turnover between China and Tajikistan is expected to exceed $ 3 billion in the coming years. Practice shows that China and Tajikistan together open the way to complementarity, joint development and prosperity.

CCTV is a Chinese state-owned television company with a network of 50 channels broadcasting various programs and is accessible to over one billion viewers in six different languages.

US Secretary of State Blinken Hears Tajik Music

On New Year’s Eve, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted two playlists of his favorite songs that he listened to in 2021.

Blinken stressed that music is a permanent part of his life. Summing up the year, the Secretary of State would like to take a moment to share some of his favorite songs released in 2021.

The Secretary of State called the first list of songs “At Home”. It includes 17 songs by American artists such as Justin Bieber, Diana Ross, Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift.

The total playlist duration is 1 hour and 3 minutes.

“Part of my job includes promoting people-to-people diplomacy and forging ties with other nations through a shared love of culture, including music. Here are some favorite songs by American artists that I listened to this year and hope you will enjoy, too,” reads the playlist description.

The second list is called “On the Road.” It includes songs by musicians from all over the world, including The Weekend, Stromae, Adel, Dua Lipa and others. The playlist is 2 hours and 18 minutes long and consists of 36 tracks.

It is noteworthy that this list contains two Tajik songs – “Camarob” performed by a young Tajik singer, 25-year-old Safarmuhammad Rustam, as well as a song by a singer from Afghanistan Aryana Sayeed “Nafasam”. By the way, Safarmuhammad studied from 2014 through 2019 at Liaoning University in Chinese Shenyang.

Press conference of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Riyadh

On 2 January 2022, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Riyadh held a Press Conference on the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the introduction of a unilateral visa-free regime for several foreign countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which came into force on 1 January 2022.

The representatives from media, stakeholders engaged in tourism and investment of the host country as well as social media activists attended the press conference.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Saudi Arabia Akram Karimi elaborated on the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the introduction of the unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of several countries, including Saudi Arabia, and stressed the importance of this timely step for further strengthening of cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the areas of tourism, trade and investment.

During the event, videos reflecting the beautiful nature, as well as tourism opportunities and investment atmosphere in Tajikistan were presented.

The Embassy also organized a photo exhibition entitled “Tajikistan – The Promising Tourism Destination” on the sidelines of the press conference.
