The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said at a security meeting in India that the only way to save Afghanistan is to form an inclusive government with the participation of all ethnic groups, reports Radio Ovozi Tojik with reference to the Afghan news agency Shafakna.

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council noted that 20 years ago the US invaded Afghanistan under the pretext of resisting the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, and fighting terrorism.

“But instead of presenting a successful and inspiring model, all the components in this crisis-ridden country are worse than ever,” he noted.

According to him, the threat of terrorism in Afghanistan is growing, poverty is growing, drug cultivation and drug trafficking is increasing, and Afghan migration is increasing.

“We all know that Afghanistan is an ethnic and multi-confessional country, and only in the light of the participation of all people, religions, groups and political groups, we can hope that this country will come out of the crisis, but ignoring at least one of these points means to plunge Afghanistan into the abyss of an uncertain and unstable future,” he said.

Shamkhani said that the only way to save Afghanistan is to create an inclusive government with the participation of all groups and faiths.

According to Shamkhani, the current threats stem from the presence, growth, and development of ISIS terrorist groups, and the threat of a religious war in Afghanistan.

“It will be difficult for all of us in the region, both neighbors and others,” he said.

According to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon only the formation of an inclusive government can be recognized as legitimate.
