German Federal Foreign Office’s Representative for Cooperation with Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Matthias Lüttenberg considered the Tajik government’s decision to abolish the visa regime for citizens of Germany and other European countries as a good basis for expanding ties between the two countries and developing tourism.

He stated this at the meeting with the Tajik Ambassador to Germany Sohibnazar Gayratsho, which took place on November 30.

The meeting focused on the current state and prospects for bilateral cooperation.

The parties exchanged views on the integration process in the region, the situation in Afghanistan, and the fight against contemporary challenges and threats.

Gayratsho expressed the country’s interest in expanding political and economic relations with the European Union and its individual countries.
