"The holding of the COP29 in Azerbaijan is the manifestation of the international community's trust in the Azerbaijan's policy which was carried out at the national and international level under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, as well as Azerbaijan's efforts on contributing to solving the problem of climate change," Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev said at the first press conference of the Board of the 29th session (COP29) of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, APA reports. Stating that Azerbaijan assumed the chairmanship of COP29 with unanimous support of world countries, Mukhtar Babayev noted that as part of its chairmanship and hosting of COP29, Azerbaijan will continuously operate towards streghtening the global solidarity on climate change.
