Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Iran

On September 17, 2021 in Dushanbe in the framework of the official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Said Ibrahim Raisi to the Republic of Tajikistan the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Husseinamir Abdullahian.

The sides noted the importance of the parties for the development of bilateral political, trade, economic and cultural relations. The sides discussed the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, in particular the strengthening of inter-parliamentary friendship groups of Tajikistan and Iran, as well as cooperation in the framework of regional and international organizations.

The sides stressed the role of the Joint Commission for Trade, Economic, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in expanding cooperation on the need to implement the agreements reached at the 14th session of the Joint Commission. In this context, the importance of increasing the volume of bilateral trade was noted.

The parties also discussed the issues of full implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the methods and framework of bilateral cooperation in the field of security.
