Plateau Elders Laud Leadership Qualities Of Senate Minority Leader

A non-partisan stakeholder organisation, Plateau Elders Forum (PEF), under the Chairmanship of Dr.) Yahaya Kwande, has hailed the steering leadership qualities of the Senate Minority Leader, Simon Mwadkon

The organization, in a press statement on Tuesday signed by its spokesman, Jonathan Ishaku, congratulated Dr. Simon Davou Mwadkon, the lawmaker representing Plateau-North, on his recent election as the Minority Leader of the 10th Senate.

The group also appreciated the 10th Senate lawmakers for finding Mwadkon worthy to occupy the position.

The press statement read, “Senator Mwadkon is a man of enviable political antecedents in Plateau State and the country at large and we have absolutely no doubt that he will perform the duties of his new office excellently well to give this nation the Senate it would be proud.

“Senator Mwadkon brings to Nigerian politics a brilliant theoretical understanding of its complex filaments as a foremost political science scholar and former university lecturer.

“We also wish to appreciate the members of the 10th Senate for finding this Plateau State-born erudite politician worthy of being elected into this key position in the leadership of the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

“It shall be recalled that during the run up to the elections in the National Assembly, the Plateau Elders Forum rooted for either of the two members of the House of Representatives from Plateau State who had openly come out to canvass their interest in the Speakership position. Unfortunately, both candidates failed to get it due to their parties zoning to another state.

“It is, therefore, gratifying that Plateau State is now well represented in the National Assembly leadership by the Distinguished Senator Simon Mwadkon.,” the statement further read.
