The first Geneva dialogue on water issues

On July 1, 2022, the first Geneva Dialogue on water issues , organized by the Permanent Representations of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Arab Republic of Egypt, was held in Switzerland. This dialogue was supported by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), UN-Water, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Geneva Water Hub. , attended by heads of diplomatic missions and high-level representatives of UN organizations.

The main goal of the mentioned Dialogue is to make a significant contribution of organizations and representations based in Sh. Geneva is the UN Water Conference-2023, as well as identifying and proposing specific ways to accelerate the achievement of the sixth Sustainable Development Goal and the UN 2030 Agenda.

Permanent representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Jamshed Hamidov, gave a speech at the high-level opening session. To the participants about the high-level conference on water, which was held in Sh. Information was provided on Monday, June 6-9 this year.

Also, as part of this event, a seminar dedicated to the discussion of water issues and natural disaster risk reduction was held, which was organized by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the UNDRR organization.
