Tajikistan will take part in the international film festival in Tashkent

The delegation of Tajikistan will take part in the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”, the press service of the Tojikfilm concern reported.

 

The festival will be held from 13 to 18 September. Within the framework of the festival, several events in the field of cinema will be held, including the Days of Cinema of Tajikistan.

 

According to the plan, within the framework of the days, the script for a joint feature historical film about the friendship of the Tajik and Uzbek peoples “Shining Stars: Jami and Navoi” will be presented.

 

The development and concept of a film about friendship in the image of Mavlono Abdurakhmoni Jomi and Mir Alisher Navoi was proposed by the presidents of the two countries Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev last June during the official visit of the head of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan.

JICA launches a three-year Project for Improving Quality of Primary Health Care Services in Tajikistan

On September 5, 2022, a Record of Discussions that confirms the launch of a technical cooperation project “The Project for Improving Quality of Primary Health Care Services” (referred to as Project for PHC) from the beginning of 2023 has been signed between JICA and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan. The period of the Project for PHC is three years and the intervention areas will be selected after the launch of the Project.

 

The specific objective of the Project is to improve the quality of health care at primary level

 

  1. by strengthening the capacity of professionals working in primary health care (referred to as PHC) service delivery;

 

  1. by increasing awareness about mother and child health, nutrition and non-communicable diseases prevention among community members in the target districts and

 

  1. by small-scale provision of equipment or rehabilitation in the selected PHC facilities.

 

Overall, the Project for PHC aims to assist the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in strengthening the PHC system by aligning JICA’s activities with the efforts of other stakeholders.

 

Since 2017, JICA has been implementing a technical cooperation project “The Project for Improving Maternal and Child Health Care System in Khatlon Region, Phase II”, which will be completed by the end of 2022. The Project for PHC has been formulated based on the lessons learned from the Phase II project and in coordination with stakeholders who are working to improve the quality of PHC.

 

JICA began its technical cooperation with Tajikistan in 1993 by inviting Tajik officials to gain knowledge and experience on governance and macroeconomics development. As of March 2020, a total number of participants to JICA’s Knowledge Co-Creation Programs, formerly called the Training Programs, has exceeded 2380 people. JICA Office was established in 2006 in Tajikistan and since then various Grant Financial Assistance and Technical Cooperation projects have been implemented more dynamically, aiming at improving living standard of Tajik people for the sectors such as agriculture and rural development, water supply, health, transport, energy, capacity building as well as SME promotion. JICA’s cumulative investment portfolio in Tajikistan in all sectors comprises 45 projects amounting to more than 421.1 mln USD (97.26 mln USD for Technical Cooperation and 324 mln USD for Grant Assistance), including 13 ongoing projects.

Tajik rapper arrested for 10 days for disobeying police

For disobedience to the requirements of police officers, 23-year-old Ramazon Murodov, better known as rapper Ralik, was arrested for 10 days.

 

He was arrested on September 5, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dushanbe reported this on September 9.

 

“Ramazon Murodov, a resident of N. Karabaev Street, showed disrespect to the police officers on duty and involved in ensuring public order, and humiliated their honor and dignity with rude expressions. At the same time, with his obscene behavior, he did not obey the lawful demands of the police officers and prevented him from performing official tasks», – the message on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.

 

In relation to Murodov, an administrative protocol was drawn up under Article 479 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the country, (non-compliance with the requirements of police officers).

Tajik Akmaliddin Karimov wins Sambo World Cup

Tajik sambo wrestler Akmaliddin Karimov in the weight category up to 58 kg became the winner of the Sambo World Cup – A. Kharlampiev Memorial-2022 in Russia.

 

On September 10 and 11, the prestigious international tournament “Cup for the Founders of Sambo” (formerly the A. Kharlampiev Memorial, renamed in 2022), which has the unofficial status of the World Championship, was held on the carpets of the Moscow Martial Arts Center.

The United States of America plans to expand cooperation in the field of security and promotion of fundamental freedoms with Tajikistan. A school accountant was suspected of embezzling almost 900 thousand somoni In Kulyab

Abdujabbor Kholikov, accountant of secondary school No. 2 in the city of Kulyab, was detained on suspicion of misappropriation of almost 900 thousand somoni, the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the country reports.

 

It is noted that while in this position, Kholikov, by forging accounting documents on salary, appropriated 892.9 thousand somoni and used it for personal purposes.

 

The department’s statement does not say how long this amount was appropriated and when the detention took place.

 

A criminal case was initiated against Kholikov under Article 245 (Misappropriation or embezzlement) and 323 (Official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, which has already been submitted to the court.

 

Under Article 245, he faces a fine of 365 to 547 indicators for calculations, (one indicator – 64 somoni) or restriction of liberty for up to three years or imprisonment for the same period with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to two years.

 

Article 323 provides for a fine of 250 to 365 indicators for calculations or correctional labor for a term of one to two years or imprisonment for up to two years.

Russian biker dies while paragliding in Tajikistan

In the Varzob district of Tajikistan, a resident of St. Petersburg, 38-year-old Pavel Chernov (Motovoz) crashed while paragliding. This was reported in the Committee for Emergency Situations of the country.

 

According to the department, the incident happened on September 10.

 

“Pavel was in Tajikistan on a working trip. As it turned out, he was engaged in cargo transportation, was fond of extreme sports and loved to ride motorcycles. On the morning of September 10, a call was received from an employee of the 201st Russian military base in the republic to the control panel of the operational duty officer of the CoES that a Russian citizen had fallen from a paraglider in the mountains on the territory of Kharangon”, – the CES reports.

 

After arriving at the scene, rescuers began search and rescue operations.

The film of the Tajik director received an award at the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival

The short feature film The Younger Brother of Angels (Dodaraki farishtaho) directed by Umedsho Mirzoshirinov received an award at the XVIII Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, which was held in Kazan. The film won “Best Short Feature Film”.

 

The event was held from 7 to 11 September this year.
