The President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhromjon Aloyev, as part of the Days of Shusha organized by the organization in Tashkent. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev took part in the meeting. During the meeting, it was pointed out that Uzbekistan's chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States this year will play an important role in the development of the comprehensive cooperation of the country with the Turkic states, as well as with the Turkic Cooperation Organizations. The large-scale activities of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, one of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations, aimed at strengthening friendly and brotherly relations between the Turkic countries, were mentioned. The Foundation attaches great importance to mutual relations with Uzbekistan, and attention was brought the projects implemented in this direction. The importance of publications published by the Foundation, various events and conferences organized in the country aimed at the advancement of the culture of Uzbekistan at the international level was noted. The series of events held by the Foundation in Tashkent in order to promote the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Shusha, which has the status of the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World in 2023, was evaluated as a step towards bringing Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan closer to each other. The meeting continued with the exchange of views on the implementation of joint projects in the direction of continuing active cooperation between the organization and Uzbekistan.

The fact of torture against Azerbaijani soldiers captured by Armenia caused anger of the Azerbaijani community living in the United States. A statement addressed to the international organizations on the behalf of Azerbaijani-American Women's Society in New York, American-Azerbaijani Integration Center, Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization, George Washington University Azerbaijani Student Association, Northern California Azerbaijani Cultural Center, Florida Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association, Florida Azerbaijani-American Society, Azerbaijan-America draws attention to the inhumane treatment against the soldiers of Azerbaijani Army - Babirov Agshin, born in 2004 and Akhundov Huseyn, born in 2003. The statement stresses that Armenia does not fulfill its obligations under important international acts, including the Geneva Convention, Conventions against Torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Azerbaijanis demanded international organizations to investigate the fact of violence, give a proper legal assessment, and immediate and unconditional release of the Azerbaijani servicemen.

As a result of the sale of 8,300 ounces of gold and 33.500 ounces of silver in January-March of this year, a total of 27.9 million manats were earned, AzerGold CJSC reports. As compared to the same period in 2022, the volume of sales of gold grew by 14%, silver - by 79%, total revenue from sales of precious metals was up by 13.9%. Total sales' figures include the export of 7.300 ounces of gold, 20.000 ounces of silver, the sale of 943 ounces of gold, 13.400 ounces of silver in the domestic market. As compared to the same period in 2022, gold and silver exports grew by 15% and 7.6%, respectively. From export operations in the first quarter of this year, "AzerGold" earned funds totaling 24.1 million manats. This is up by 12.6% from the same period of the last year.

The trade turnover between Armenia and Iran was equal to about USD 711 mln. in previous year which is almost 42% more than annual comparison, APA-Economics reports citing Armenian press.

And the trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia was USD 879 mln. which means a more than two-fold increase compared to the previous year.

The United States is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan find lasting peace," said noted the US embassy in Armenia in its statement on the final of the visit of US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Erica Olson to Yerevan, APA reports.

In its statement, the embassy noted that the American diplomat stressed in her meetings that the United States is ready to help Armenia and Azerbaijan reduce tensions and find a long-term, comprehensive peace.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has made a post on his visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

According to the minister, the composition of the delegation coming from Israel to Azerbaijan includes representatives on security, energy, and agriculture.

"We are expanding the cooperation, and contributing to the economy and the security of both countries. It is a new era in Israeli and Azerbaijani relations," the post reads.
