India will overtake China as the most populated country in the world. The country’s population has reached 1.4286 billion, while China’s population is 1.4257 billion — down 2.9 million. The United Nations Population Fund reported.

Experts did not indicate the exact date when China lost / will lose its leadership due to the «uncertainty» of data coming from countries: for example, the last population census in India was in 2011.

Experts also note that although India and China, according to their forecasts, will account for more than a third of the world’s population, population growth in both countries is slowing down. Last year, China’s population declined for the first time in six years, a historic event that could mark the beginning of a long-term population decline.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with Vice President, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

During the talks they discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in trade, economic, educational, humanitarian, investment, energy and other fields. Implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to the UAE in October 2022 was considered, as well as issues of further cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The parties noted the high dynamics of increasing the volume of Emirati investments attracted to the economy of Kyrgyzstan, including the implementation of projects in the energy sector. The project for the construction of a solar power plant by Masdar company in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as a number of other investment projects, was noted.

The parties paid special attention to the issues of creation and further functioning of Abu Dhabi Kyrgyz Investment OJSC.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their commitment to the further development of bilateral relations, diversification of trade and investment cooperation and attraction of investments for the implementation of projects in Kyrgyzstan from among the leading companies of the UAE.

Director of a pharmaceutical company was detained for giving a bribe on an especially large scale in Bishkek. Press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.

The fact of tax evasion on an especially large scale by the pharmaceutical company A.K., which is headed by a citizen of a foreign state, was revealed.

«According to the results of tax audit, facts of evasion of taxes in the amount of more than 17 million soms were revealed. Representatives of the company, in order to reduce the amount of tax payments and create favorable conditions for the further course of investigation of the criminal case, began to persistently offer monetary rewards for resolving the issue,» the statement says.

The director of the pharmaceutical company and an intermediary were caught red handed during transfer of $40,000. Both were placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security.

Abu Dhabi Kyrgyz Investment OJSC was created by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

The company was created to establish sustainable interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and mobilize additional financial resources. Thanks to it, it is planned to attract investments from the UAE to the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, Abu Dhabi Kyrgyz Investment OJSC will focus on financing projects aimed at developing infrastructure and energy, supporting exports, attracting new technologies, modernizing industry, creating a value chain and development of regions.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan is a co-founder of Abu Dhabi Kyrgyz Investment OJSC. The authorized capital of the company will be $100 million, with subsequent investments up to $1.2 billion. The paid-in capital will amount to 5 percent of the authorized capital for the initial establishment of Abu Dhabi Kyrgyz Investment. Kyrgyzstan and the UAE will pay the authorized capital of $2.5 million each.

Several schools in Almaty (Kazakhstan) were evacuated and checked because of reports of planted bombs in them. Tengrinews.kz reports.

The media outlet, citing the director of one of them, reported that 29 schools in the city received the letters. The Almaty police confirmed this information.

Recall, educational institutions of Bishkek, both public and private, as well as universities received bomb threat reports on Thursday.

This is not the first hoax callers’ attack. Similar messages were received by educational institutions and shopping centers of the capital on March 22, January 20 and April 18. The organizers have not yet been found. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Aibek Shamenov said that the accounts from which messages were sent are registered on the territory of Ukraine and Russia.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov will take part in the festive Orozo Ait prayer on Friday. Spokesman for the President Erbol Sultanbaev reported.

The traditional prayer on the day of the celebration of Orozo Ait will take place on Turdakun Usubaliev Square in Bishkek (Old Square). The event will be broadcast live on NTRK, republican and regional TV channels and on social media.

A Business Forum was held in Bishkek as part of a visit of a delegation from Omsk Oblast of Russia. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The delegation is headed by Dmitry Ushakov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Omsk Oblast. It includes representatives of large businesses and higher educational institutions of Omsk, who are ready to provide free education quotas for Kyrgyz students.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev noted that Russia is not only a strategic partner for Kyrgyzstan, but also an ally. He stressed that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic pays a lot of attention to expansion of economic cooperation and seeks to strengthen the bridge of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.

As a result of the Business Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Union of the Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The delegation from Omsk Oblast visited a number of enterprises, such as garment, meat, medical and educational institutions. Businessmen got acquainted with the opportunities for cooperation in the aforementioned sectors.

The first Kyrgyz-Russian Business Forum was held in Osh. It was attended by entrepreneurs from the southern regions, such as Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken.

Entrepreneurs and builders who restored destroyed houses in Batken region came to the Parliament and ask for a meeting with the President Sadyr Japarov. They themselves told 24.kg news agency.

According to them, they have not received a salary for seven months. The amount of debt to 300 employees of Almaluu Door Kurulush subcontractor is about 30 million soms.

«We have worked for seven months in Kapchygai village. About 300 workers cannot get their wages. We applied to the local authorities of Batken region, but in vain. The general contractor Amanat Stroy Invest and the contractor Almaluu Door Kurulush cover each other and do not pay us money. Ordinary people in Aksai and Kapchygai villages are suffering. We 98 percent completed the houses, but did not receive payment,» Omurbek Zhusupbek uulu said.

He noted that the appeal to the Presidential Affairs Department also did not give a positive result.

«We would like to meet with the head of state Sadyr Japarov. We have something to say to him about the restoration of Batken. Please receive and listen to us,» Omurbek Zhusupbek uulu said.

Amanat Stroy Invest construction company won a tender for the construction of residential buildings, in fact, it hired 33 subcontractors to carry out the work.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, promised to complete the restoration of facilities in the region by the end of December 2022.

The President of Kyrgyzstan signed a law on ratification of the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Uzbekistan on cooperation in organizing the production of automotive and commercial vehicles in the Kyrgyz Republic. Press service of the head of state reported.

The law was adopted by the Parliament on March 15, 2023. The ratification of the document will make it possible to implement an investment project to organize the assembly production of passenger and commercial vehicles in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

It is expected that the implementation of the project will give impetus to the development of the automotive industry of the republic, increase the share of industry in GDP, and renew the vehicle fleet. In addition, 2,000 new jobs will be created as well as the production of components for vehicles. This will ultimately have a positive impact on the dynamics of development of the country’s economy.
