Tajik ambassador meets with Turkish minister of trade in Ankara to discuss cooperation

During the meeting, the two reportedly exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey.

They also discussed activities of the Tajikistan-Turkey intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.

The parties reportedly agreed to follow the agreements previously reached by the highest leaderships of the two countries on diversification and increasing the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Turkey to 1 billion U.S. dollars.

Gulov and Mus also discussed issues related to developing the Tajikistan-Turkey bilateral trade facilitation roadmap designed for 2022-2025, the Embassy says.

Besides, the two reportedly discussed the state and further steps to implement the items of the Joint Plan of Actions of 11th session of the Tajikistan-Turkey intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.

They also touched up issues of further expansion of the bilateral cooperation in the fields of banking sector, investment, agriculture, transportation, construction and architecture, tourism, environmental protection, civil aviation, public health, education, science, culture, labor and social care, standardization, sports and youth policy.

The Ministry of Trade of Turkey is responsible for customs and trade related affairs in Turkey. The ministry was founded with the Act No. 640 by merging the Prime Ministry's Undersecretariate of Customs with some departments of the former Ministry of Industry and Trade on June 8, 2011. In the past, duties of the current ministry were carried out by the Ministry of Customs and Monopoly (1931–1983), Ministry of Finance and Customs (1983–1991) and Undersecretariate of Customs (1993–2011).

Rahmon fondly remembers the conversations with Merkel, congratulates new Germany Chancellor

Emomali Rahmon sent two cables – one to ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel and another one to new Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the Tajik president’s official website said on December 11.

In his message to Angela Merkel, Tajik leader, in particular, noted, “Remembering with warmth our meetings and conversations, I would like to emphasize that I consider your contribution to the strengthening and expansion of relationships between Germany and Tajikistan, friendship and multifaceted cooperation significant.”

Rahmon expressed gratitude to ex-Chancellor for sincere friendship, trust and fruitful cooperation and expressed the hope that the traditions of good relations and partnership between the two countries will continue.

In his message of congratulations to new Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Emomali Rahmon noted that Tajikistan is interested in further expansion of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Germany, one of the key nations of the European Union. “In this context, we stand for further deepening and expansion of the bilateral cooperation in all areas being of mutual interest,” reads the message.

Olaf Scholz was elected as Germany’s new Chancellor on December 8, bringing to an end Angela Merkel’s 16 years of leadership.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federal Republic of Germany were established on 28 February 1992.

Ms. Khusravova, a 21-year-old native of the Pamir Mountains, has been a champion for mountain communities since she was a young girl. She leads a local community emergency response team – all volunteers – in GBAO and is passionate about protecting mountains and mountain life and encouraging women to speak up and lead.

She, in particular, noted in an interview with AKAH at the end of last week that current harsh climate conditions pose a threat to the population of the Pamirs.

“It can increase the intensity of natural hazards and man-made disasters. In many cases, villages are cut off from communication routes for a long time after these disasters and must rely only on themselves and neighboring communities,” said Dilshodbegim. “And that’s why we have to take care of Mother Nature and mountains. They do matter.”

“As volunteers, we can improve the ability of our community to better cope with the impacts of disasters and other emergencies. Thanks to AKAH and the Government for taking unprecedented actions to train and equip us with the resources,” she said.

Russian air carrier launches flights on a new air route from Russia to Tajikistan

Beginning on December 15, Nordwind Airlines will operate the flight Yekaterinburg-Bokhtar-Yekaterinburg using Boeing 737-800, says the press center of Yekaterinburg International Airport Koltsovo. It will be once-weekly service on Wednesdays.

Tajikistan ready to resume rail links with Russia

“But, so far, we are not talking about the resumption of rail passenger traffic between Tajikistan and Russia,” said Latifzoda. “We, however, hope that the rail passenger traffic between the two countries will resume soon. As soon as land borders open, we are ready to resume the rail passenger traffic with Te Russian Federation.

According to him, the rail passenger traffic with the Russian Federation was suspended on March 16, last year due to the novel coronavirus crisis.

“Prior to suspension of the rail passenger traffic with Russia, 1,600 conductors worked for Tajik Railways, and after suspension of the rail passenger traffic between Tajikistan and Russia, the majority of them were put on unpaid leave. The same situation is with our other employees,” Latifzoda said.

Currently, only freight trains run between Tajikistan and Russia, the spokesman added.

Tajikistan Introduces Blended Learning

The development of blended learning in Tajikistan was discussed in Dushanbe on December 9-10, reports the Academy of Education.

Specialists from the Ministry of Education and Science, the Academy of Education, and the Republican Institute for Education Development took part in the discussion regarding the implementation of this training system.

Definitions of blended learning and ways they differ from other models, such as, for example, e-learning using digital educational platforms, as well as traditional we part of the discussion.

The advantages and disadvantages of such training, the models which teachers can successfully apply in their activities, were likewise noted.

Blended learning is a combination of traditional forms of classroom learning with elements of e-learning, which uses special information technologies such as computer graphics, audio and video, and interactive elements.

The blended learning process is a sequence of phases of traditional and e-learning that alternate over time.

Cooperation with educational institutions

Cooperation between law enforcement, schools, education and the family is one of the issues that is constantly receiving serious attention.

Guimet Museum in Paris Hosts Day of Archeologic Studies of Tajikistan

On December 11, the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts in Paris in collaboration with the French Association of Friends of the East hosted the Day of Archeologic Studies of Tajikistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Guimet Museum, scientific and educational circles, archaeologists, researchers and civil society of France, as well as activists of the Tajik diaspora living in Paris, and officials of the Embassy of Tajikistan in France.

Ambassador of Tajikistan to France Jamoliddin Ubaidullo expressed his satisfaction with the important achievements of Tajik-French cooperation in the field of archeology over the past 40 years, in particular citing a clear example of holding the exhibition of historical items of Tajikistan at Guimet Museum from October 13, 2021 through January 10, 2022.

Interesting and informative reports and presentations of French and foreign archaeologists and historians, including Henri-Paul Francfort, Frédéric Brunet, Francis Richard, Valerie Zaleski, Harry Falk, and Etienne De La Vaissière were delivered on the history of archaeological cooperation between Tajikistan and France, especially the results of archaeological excavations, scientific data and explanations about historical places and monuments of the Tajik state from ancient times to the Middle Ages, including the ancient settlement of Sarazm.
