On Christmas Eve, it is important to follow the rules of fire safety

There are only a few days left until the New Year. In accordance with the requirements of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the plan of additional measures approved by the Chief of the Main Department of the State Fire Service Major General Bakhtiyor Umarzoda. General services, parks and alleys, public places of residence and houses and settlements of cities and districts of the country have intensified their activities, and propaganda and advocacy work has been carried out at a high level.

In this regard, in order to prevent fires and other accidents and not to disturb the happy New Year atmosphere, the specialists of the Main Department of the State Fire Service and its units have installed large Christmas trees in Dushanbe and other cities and districts of the country. Fire trucks, in cooperation with police and other relevant agencies, are on round-the-clock duty.

In order to prevent tragic events on such happy days, along with the efforts of the State Fire Service, every citizen of the country must strictly follow the rules of fire safety when installing and decorating the New Year tree. As a rule, the Christmas tree in public places should be placed on the first floor or in the yard near the building.

The building where the fir-tree will be placed must have at least two exit doors. It is strictly forbidden to place a Christmas tree in the hallway or entrance. The size of the fir tree should be such that its branches do not reach the ceiling and stand at least one meter away from the wall. There should be three to five fire extinguishers and a blanket in a special place in the hall. If there is no fire extinguisher, it is possible to store 50 to 100 liters of water.

The fir tree should be planted in the middle of the hall on a solid forty-foot base or in a bucket full of soil. It is forbidden to decorate the Christmas tree with celluloid or fast-moving toys, to light candles.

It is forbidden to wrap the trunks and branches of fir trees with cotton wool that has not been treated with fire-retardant liquid, to hang cotton toys on them and to sprinkle them with bertolet salt. The lighting of the Christmas tree should be done by means of a step-down transformer with a voltage not exceeding 24 volts. When using 220 volt power, only factory plugs should be used, as self-made plugs often cause fires.

The person responsible for fire safety must draw up a plan and rules for the organized evacuation of participants from the premises, coordinate it with the State Fire Service and obtain a special permit. During Christmas, all exit doors should be open and there should be people standing in front of each of them.

Inside the building, the use of bingo candles, magnesium, missiles and other explosive pyrotechnic materials is strictly prohibited. It is not appropriate to wear cotton, paper, gauze, or other non-abrasive fabrics on Christmas.

In the event of a fire or the appearance of its symptoms, it is necessary to call the "01" (from mobile phones "101"), notify the state fire service.
