Three people were killed in traffic accidents

As a result, the driver of the car "Mercedes-Sprinter" Aliyev H.S. and his passengers: Akhtamov Vorisjon Abdulloevich, born in 2018, resident of A. Jomi district, Safarkhonova Saida Ibodovna, born in 1995, resident of the same place, with various injuries, was hospitalized, junior Akhtamov VA died.

At the same time, on December 14, 2021, at about 18:40, the driver of the car "Kiya" Pairamov Umed Khudoinazarovich, born in 1982, resident of Tursunzoda, while driving in the city, did not follow the rules of the road and crashed into the car. A Mercedes-Actros driven by Abirov Khayriddin Hamidovich, born in 1990, a resident of Vose district, collided with the driver.

As a result, the driver of the car "Kiya" Payramov U.Kh. and his passenger Muhiddinov Abdurahmon Abduhakimovich, born in 1998, resident of Tursunzoda, received serious injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the car "Mercedes-Actros" Abirov H.H. and his passenger Pirumkulov Jamshed Fayzkhonovich, born in 1990, resident of Rudaki district, received various injuries and was hospitalized.

An investigation is under way.

Deputy FM Receives Head of UNICEF in Tajikistan

Yesterday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Huseinzoda received Osama Makkawi, who is serving as the head of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Tajikistan.

The meeting focused on cooperation between Tajikistan and UNICEF in various fields, including the process of development of the Country Program Document for 2023-2026, as well as measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country and provide vaccines under the COVAX program.

Achievements of Tajikistan Presented at the Asian Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction

The Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Nazarzoda is taking part in the Asian Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction — 2021 from December 14 through December 16, which is being held via videoconference.

High-level meetings and sessions are being held as part of the conference, which is co-chaired by Tajikistan.

The conference focuses on issues of creating a safe, reliable society fit for life, increasing preparedness for natural disasters.

More than 150 individuals are participating in the conference.

Nazarzoda informed the conference participants about the achievements of Tajikistan in the implementation of the Sendai Framework Program and the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction for 2019-2030, the progress of projects and programs funded by international organizations and donor countries.

Yesterday, Nazarzoda took part in the work of the steering committee of the Asian Center for Disaster Risk Reduction. The reports on the activities of the Asian Center for Disaster Risk Reduction in 2021 and plans for 2022 were heard during the meeting.

The next conference will be held in Dushanbe in 2022.

Tajik Delegation Attends Working Meeting of the Paris Pact Consultative Group

Led by the Director of the Drug Control Agency Habibullo Vohidzoda, the Tajik delegation is taking part in the working meeting of the Paris Pact Consultative Group.

Initiated by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the meeting began yesterday in Moscow.

Vohidzoda spoke about the Strategic Review on the latest trends, routes and methods of trafficking of opium-based drugs coming from Afghanistan.

He touched upon the situation in the region, the problems of illicit drug trafficking and measures to strengthen regional cooperation to prevent illegal drug trafficking from the territory of Afghanistan.

Vohidzoda noted that Tajikistan being well aware of the concern of the world community with the growth of transnational organized crime, terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking and its danger to the socio-economic foundations and health of mankind, takes all the necessary measures in a timely and effective manner to eliminate these negative phenomena.

The decisions of the government of Tajikistan aimed at combating this negative phenomenon have been repeatedly declared at all levels, including from the high rostrum of the United Nations.

As part of the meeting, Vohidzoda met with the Senior Coordinator of the UNODC Regional Program.

The meeting focused on issues of fruitful cooperation, including assistance to the agency in the fight against drug trafficking within the framework of the program.

Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies Meets Turkish Vice President in Ankara

Yesterday, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Co-Chairman of the Tajik-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Sherali Kabir met with the Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay in Ankara.

The meeting focused on the current state and prospects for the development of Tajik-Turkish relations, including within the framework of the Tajik-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The parties stressed the need to organize negotiations and contacts at the highest level in the near future, to expand trade and economic cooperation, and hold the Tajik-Turkish Business Forum in Konya.

Today, a Tajik-Turkish business forum will take place in Konya.

The business forum will be held as part of the visit of the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir to Turkey to attend the celebration of the 748th anniversary of Shabi Arus in memory of Mavlono Jaloliddin Balkhi.

The forum is expected to be attended by representatives of more than 150 companies and enterprises from various sectors of economic activity of Tajikistan and Turkey, including pharmaceutical, textile, mining, finance, banking, logistics, mechanical engineering, food, agriculture, trade, as well as representatives of ministries and departments.

Also, as part of the forum, a bilateral meeting of entrepreneurs from both countries will be held in the B2B format.

A number of cooperation documents are expected to be signed following the forum.

Draft agreement on CIS Council of Heads of Electoral Bodies finalized

MINSK ( BelTA) – The group of experts held an additional meeting on 14 December to discuss the formation of the CIS Advisory Council of the Heads of Electoral Bodies. BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Secretariat of the CIS IPA Council and the CIS Executive Committee took part in a video conference.

The participants considered comments and suggestions from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The experts took them into account to finalize the text of the draft agreement that will be submitted for interstate coordination. Once this procedure is completed, the draft agreement will be submitted to the CIS Heads of State Council.

According to the press service, the initiative to set up the CIS Advisory Council of the Heads of Electoral Bodies belongs to Uzbekistan. It is assumed that the council will promote cooperation between the electoral bodies of the CIS countries and improvement of the electoral process in the states taking into account their experience in conducting elections and referendums in accordance with the legislation and international obligations. The council will consist of heads of central electoral bodies of the CIS member states.

Meeting with the Vice President of Turkey

The current state and prospects of development of Tajik-Turkish relations, including in the framework of the Tajik-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation have been considered at the meeting.

The parties stressed the need to organize high-level talks and contacts in the near future and expressed support for the initiative to establish a Tajik-Turkish business forum in Konya to expand trade and economic cooperation.

Detection of theft of technical equipment

During search operations by police on suspicion of theft were detained 52, 35 and 30-year-old men from Tursunzoda.

On the night of September 8, 2021, at approximately 02:30, the suspects stole four pieces of two-wheeled rollers from the warehouse of a mixing and forging shop located in the city and disappeared from the scene. .

Falak Officially Inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List

On December 15, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO Zulfiya Burhon took part in the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage with participation of the representatives of UNESCO member states which was held virtually in Paris.

The meeting discussed the inscription of elements of intangible cultural heritage nominated by UNESCO member states to the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Nominations which met the terms and conditions of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO have been formally inscribed to the list by the committee.

The official inscription of Falak to the world List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity was proclaimed by the Chairperson of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Executive Secretary of the Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO Punchi Nilame Meegaswatte.

This nomination of Tajikistan has met all five criteria of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This initiative will be one of the most significant achievements to protect and popularize the ancestorial heritage, as well as present the Tajik folkcrafts, rich and ancient culture in the international arena.

Falak is the traditional music of the Tajik people, which for centuries has been the expression of the emotional pain, desires, and aspirations of the common people. Falak makes predominant use of couplets and quatrains. This type of art is typical mainly for residents of mountainous regions.
