The Food Safety Agency has re-imposed a ban on the import of Iranian pepper

The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan has imposed a temporary ban on the import of pepper from Iran by a number of suppliers in connection with the detection of pesticides in vegetables. In particular, pesticide residues were detected on pepper shipments delivered by Iranian exporters: Bazargani Amanj Sahragard, Carbendazim, Azin Pishro Azarin, Etoxazole, Rahim Moradian, Vahid Rezael Pour, Rasool Soleymanpour, as well as by Azerbaijani importers: Green Fruit-22 MMC, 'Dry Fruits" MMC, 'Saiqoglu" MMC and an individual Huseynov Shakhveren. Due to the identified quality violations, the import of products by these companies is temporarily prohibited, the report says. On May 19, the Agency has already imposed a similar ban on the import of pepper and kiwi from Iran to 17 companies. The reason for this was the presence of dangerous agricultural pests in the supplied vegetables and fruits - "Brown wrinkling virus" (Tobamovirus) and "Mulberry shield" (Pseudaulacaspis pentagona).

Russian politician proposes to equalize the salaries of migrants and Russian citizens

Russian employers can be obligated to pay migrant workers no less than citizens of the Russian Federation Russian media reports say leader of 'A Justice Russia - For Truth' Party Sergey Mironov has made a number of proposals regarding the rights of foreign workers. A copy of the relevant appeal is at the disposal of RIA Novosti. 'It is proposed to oblige employers at the legislative level to set the level of wages for labor migrants not lower than that received by citizens of Russia in similar positions in the relevant subject of the Russian Federation,' the document says. The politician further adds that violators of this rule should be fined and fines should be used to improve the lives of large families. According to him, the Support Fund could also be formed through additional taxes on the use of migrants' labor. Besides, Mironov recommended increasing the fine for employers for non-payment of insurance premiums for foreign workers from 20% to 100%. He stressed that the implementation of these proposals will also solve the problem of demographic decline and growth of labor migration. At the same time, Mironov considers that an increase in migration flows would have catastrophic consequences. 'Further increase in migration flows, associated with a further decline in the population of Russia, will have catastrophic consequences for the existence of the state-forming Russian people, who risks losing its status over time,' Mironov said in an interview with RIA Novosti. Earlier it was reported that the Russians began to treat better labor migrants arriving in Russia in search of better employment opportunities. In 2022, the share of Russian citizens who do not experience negative attitudes towards foreigners was reportedly 80.9 percent, while a year this share was 74.6 percent. Sergey Mironov (born February 14, 1953) is a Russian politician. He was chairman of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament, from 2001 to 2011. Mironov was a candidate in the 2004 presidential election. He was not considered to be a serious candidate and was quoted as saying: "We all want Vladimir Putin to be the next president." He polled less than one percent of the vote. In October 2006, he became the leader of the 'A Just Russia' Party, which was formed by uniting Rodina, Mironov's Russian Party of Life, and the Russian Pensioners' Party. In the March 2012 presidential election, he received 3.86% of the votes. In March 2014, Mironov was included in list of Russian government sanctioned individuals because of their direct or alleged indirect involvement in the 2014 Crimean crisis. During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, he referred to the Ukrainian government as a "Nazi regime" that "had to be destroyed".
