Today, President Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory telegram to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on reelelction of him as President of Turkiye, according to the Tajik president's official website. The congratulatory telegram reads: "Your Excellency, I congratulate you and convey my best wishes on the occasion of your victory in the presidential elections of the Republic of Turkiye. 'The results of this important political event are another proof of the Turkish society's trust in you and its broad support for your constructive policy, which is aimed at the sustainable development of the country and strengthening its influence and prestige in the international arena. 'I would like to use this opportunity to emphasize your continued interest in the process of expanding traditional friendly relations and multifaceted beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkiye. 'I believe that during your new mandate in this high office, we will continue the constructive interstate dialogue of the parties, and for the benefit of our people, we will further enrich the contents of the long-term partnership relations of the two countries with new practical measures. Turkish media reports say President Erdogan has won Turkish election with 52.14% of vote over opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who got 47.86%. Anadolu Agency (AA), citing the Supreme Election Council (YSK) Ahmet Yener, reported today that according to unofficial results, the Turkish incumbent won the race with 52.14%, while opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu received 47.86% of the vote. He reportedly added that that 99.43% of the ballot boxes had been opened so far. More than 64.1 million Turkish citizens were registered to vote, including over 1.92 million who earlier cast their ballots at overseas polling stations. Nearly 192,000 ballot boxes were set up for voters across Turkiye.

On Sunday May 28, President Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening of two new frontier posts along Tajikistan's common border with Afghanistan in Shahritous district, Khatlon province. The events were timed to coincide with Border Guards Day, a holiday that celebrates the border guard troops of Tajikistan. This year, Tajikistan celebrated the 29th anniversary of the formation of the Border Guard Troops of Tajikistan. The Tajik president's official website says that on this occasion, President Emomali Rahmon visited the Shahritous district of Khatlon province, where he put in commission the frontier posts 'Aivaj' and 'Mehnat' along the Tajik-Afghan border. Also on this day, Rahmon attended an official opening of a two-story residential building with 12 apartments in the 'Aivaj' border area and presented the apartment keys to the lucky families of the officers. At the "Mehnat" frontier post, a residential building with four apartments has been built for the officers, and Emomali Rahmon yesterday handed over the keys to their owners. The Tajik president's official website says that it is worth mentioning that on May 28 alone, 33 new border facilities for the service of 4,000 soldiers were commissioned across the country on the occasion of the Border Guards Day. President Emomali Rahmon reportedly presented 166 families of border guard officers with apartments equipped with all household items.

Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cast his vote in the country's runoff election on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reports.s This is the first presidential runoff in Trkiye's democratic history, Erdogan told reporters after casting his vote in Istanbul's Uskudar district.s Erdogan urged all citizens to cast their votes adding voter turnout was close to 90% in the May 14 elections, a rare trend globally.s Voting began at 8 a.m. local time (0500GMT).s More than 64.1 million people are expected to vote in the runoff, including over 1.92 million overseas voters who already cast their ballots and 4.9 million first-time voters.s A total of 191,885 ballot boxes have been set up for voters in the country.s Voters will choose between Erdogan, who is seeking reelection, and the main opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.s Overseas voting was held until May 24. As for customs gates, voters will be able to cast their ballots until domestic polling stations close at 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT) on Sunday.s Millions of voters went to the polls on May 14 to elect the country's president and members of its 600-seat parliament.s Erdogan's People's Alliance won a majority against the opposition's six-party Nation alliance in parliament.s But the presidential race will be decided in Sunday's runoff since no candidate could get the required 50% in the first round, although Erdogan was in the lead with 49.52%.s

29 years have passed since the establishment of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the independent Republic of Tajikistan.

On the occasion of this historic date, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, Army General Emomali Rahmon, visited the Shahritus district of Khatlon Province and put in commission the border checkpoints «Ayvoj» and «Mehnat».

In the Border Detachment «Ayvoj» of the State Committee for National Security, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon for the first time virtually (online) inspected the facilities of a number of border detachments and modern observation posts, which were built and equipped by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in a very short time with high quality.

To the President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, regarding the modern conditions of service and the readiness of the military personnel to protect the state border at the new checkpoints, the commanders of the border detachments in the cities and districts of Khorug, Shugnon, Rushon, Darvoz and Vanj of Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province, three checkpoints in Shamsiddin Shohin district, 7 border checkpoints in Panj, Farkhor, Dusti and Jayhun districts of Khatlon Province reported.

It is worth mentioning that only today, on the occasion of the Day of Tajik Border Guards, 33 new border facilities for the service of 4,000 soldiers were commissioned across the country. Also, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Emomali Rahmon, presented 166 families of officers of the Border Troops with apartments equipped with all household items.

President Emomali Rahmon opened the new border detachment «Ayvoj» in Shahritus district, which was built in honor of the Day of Tajik border guards. The detachment is equipped with all modern conditions and up-to-date observation techniques on the state border.

After the opening of the «Ayvoj» border detachment of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the conditions of service and stay of soldiers, the control center of the state border line, and praised the quality of work. It should be said that in the winter the air temperature in Ayvoj is 32 degrees and in the summer the temperature reaches 63 degrees.

The border checkpoints «Ayvoj» and «Mehnat» were fully equipped with the most modern technical means in order to protect the state border, based on the constant attention and direct support of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, Army General Emomali Rahmon.

On the Border Guards Day, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan purchased 100 different types of military equipment and presented them to the employees of the newly established checkpoints «Ayvoj» and «Mehnat» in order to strengthen the technical capacity and equip units of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Also on this day, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon opened a two-story residential building with 12 apartments in the border area of «Ayvoj» and presented the apartment keys to the lucky families of the officers.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon had a sincere conversation with the soldiers in the canteen of the new frontier post and got acquainted with their service conditions. The Leader of the Nation exhorted the soldiers to serve faithfully for the protection of the state’s borders.

At the «Mehnat» border post, 4 apartments have been built for the officers with all living conditions and necessary items, and today the Head of State handed over the keys to their owners.
