Emomali Rahmon arrived in Tursunzade this morning, opened a non-state educational institution “Mirzo Tursunzode School” and has already visited the “Islam” farm, where he started the rice harvest.

 

The “Islam” farm was founded in 2000 by the Bobokhonov family and has 1.2 hectares of land at its disposal, the presidential press service reports.

 

This year, 0.60 ha of rice was sown here. Last year, farmers from the same area grew more than 4 tons of high-quality “laser” grade rice.

 

Emomali Rahmon had a conversation with farmers and thanked them for the efficient and rational use of land, food production and support for the government’s agricultural policy.

 

Then Emomali Rahmon got acquainted with the exhibition of bakery products.

 

The President also opened a school named after Mirzo Tursunzoda, designed for 400 students, who will be taught by 25 experienced teachers. Education at the school is conducted in Tajik, Russian and English.

 

A football ground has been built on the territory of the school, all conditions have been created to attract teenagers and youth to sports, the report says.

EBRD is providing further support for small private businesses in Tajikistan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing further support for small private businesses in Tajikistan by offering fresh funds to the country’s second largest microlender, MDO HUMO.

 

A loan of US$ 2 million will improve sustainability of domestic micro and small enterprises and will help create new jobs. As part of the project, Humo will team with a local vocational school to provide certified computer training to 240 women.

 

The training will help them access market-relevant IT skills and thus improve their employment opportunities. It will also help address the issue of computer literacy, which affects all Central Asian states, where only 11 per cent of the population can perform basic IT functions.

 

HUMO is a subsidiary of Gojo & Company Inc., a Tokyo-based investment holding company promoting greater financial inclusion in developing countries. This microfinance institution is serving mainly small and microbusinesses in retail and agribusiness and has been the EBRD client since 2008.

 

To date, the EBRD has invested €958 million through 155 projects in Tajikistan’s economy.

President Emomali Rahmon Visits Tursunzoda

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Tursunzoda on a working visit in order to get acquainted with its socio-economic development and harvesting campaign.

His visit began with the opening ceremony of the new educational institution Mirzo Tursunzode School, which was built to accommodate 400 students. Education at the school is conducted in Tajik, Russian and English.

President Rahmon also visited the Boghi Somon vineyard where he got acquainted with the process of harvesting grapes.

Boghi Somon was founded in 2009 on an area of 500 hectares, and every year it yields 11 different varieties.

Boghi Somon is one of the largest vineyards in the country.

This year, it exported over 1,000 tons of black raisins from the harvest of the vineyard.

The company exports its products to Russia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan, along with supplying the domestic market. Every year more than half of its harvest is exported to other countries.

Likewise he opened the new building of the general secondary education institution # 92 named after Kamoliddin Madumarov, which was constructed by farmer Muhammadamin Kamolov in the village of Jura Rahmonov. The school accommodates 1,300 students in two shifts.

Next, President Rahmon visited the Boghi Vatan vineyard, where he got acquainted with the harvesting campaign. Boghi Vatan was founded in 2008 and has 45 hectares of land at its disposal. This year, in addition to supplying the domestic market, the farm exported more than 1,750 tons of high-quality grape products.
