Kyrgyzstan and New Zealand intend to deepen cooperation

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Asein Isaev received copies of credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to the Kyrgyz Republic with residence in Moscow (Russia) Sarah Mary Walsh. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The parties also discussed issues of deepening bilateral cooperation, including the intensification of political dialogue, development of trade, economic and investment ties and interaction in a multilateral format.

Asein Isaev noted the importance of joint work of small countries in participating in the solution of global problems on the agenda. He also discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of hydropower.

In turn, Sarah Mary Walsh noted the main foreign policy priorities and New Zealand’s position on topical issues on the international agenda. She expressed interest in deepening bilateral relations, and reaffirmed New Zealand’s readiness to cooperate with the Kyrgyz Republic in various fields.

President Sadyr Japarov receives Ambassador of Pakistan Hasan Ali Zaigham

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan Hasan Ali Zaigham on the occasion of presenting his credentials. Press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov congratulated the Ambassador on the official start of the mission and wished him success in his diplomatic activities. He congratulated the people of Pakistan on the holy month of Ramadan. At the same time, he expressed his condolences to the families and relatives of those killed on March 21 as a result of a strong earthquake in Pakistan.

The President noted that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to trade and economic relations with Pakistan and is interested in increasing trade.

In particular, Kyrgyzstan supports increase in the export of agricultural products of Kyrgyz farmers, promotion of investment and tourism cooperation.

Sadyr Japarov proposed to strengthen scientific partnership between higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan and launch a student exchange program.

Hasan Ali Zaigham noted that Pakistan is experiencing global climate change and the impact of natural disasters on the republic.

He stressed that the Pakistani side hopes for the support of Kyrgyzstan in activities aimed at prevention of natural disasters.

The diplomat explained that bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan are consistently strengthened by fruitful cooperation in many areas. Trade and economic cooperation and partnership in the field of tourism have great potential, he said.

Hasan Ali Zaigham proposed to continue work on launching direct flights from Lahore and Islamabad to Bishkek, which would have a positive impact on the growth of tourist flow and create favorable conditions for business. As for investment cooperation, he said that Pakistan’s companies were interested in establishing joint ventures in Kyrgyzstan, particularly in the field of pharmaceuticals.

Sadyr Japarov sent an invitation to the President of Pakistan to visit Kyrgyzstan at any time convenient for him and instructed to speed up the work on launching direct flights between the two countries.

Literary scholar Pamirbek Kazybaev awarded Hungarian Golden Cross

A public figure, literary scholar Pamirbek Kazybaev was awarded the Hungarian Golden Cross at the Embassy of Hungary in Bishkek. The diplomatic mission informed 24.kg news agency.

The award was presented for merits and contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.

Pamirbek Kazybaev — a literary scholar, publicist was born on September 8, 1952 in Asylbash village, Chui region.

A great merit belongs to him in the creation of Alykul Ui-Borboru Public Association for further study and dissemination of the works of the great Kyrgyz poet Alykul Osmonov.

At the initiative of Pamirbek Kazybaev, the epic Manas was translated into Hungarian, and the works of Hungarian authors were translated into Kyrgyz.

KSMA and KTU develop joint Medical Engineering educational program

The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) and the Kyrgyz Technical University (KTU) are developing a joint educational program. The official account of the KSMA on Facebook reports.

Seven universities of Kyrgyzstan signed a memorandum on the academic mobility program. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.

The memorandum was signed by the Batken State University, Jalal-Abad State University, Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, Naryn State University, Osh State Pedagogical University, Talas State University and Issyk-Kul State University.

Poems by Hungarian poet Sandor Petofi translated into Kyrgyz

Presentation of the book of poems by the Hungarian poet Sandor Petofi «Erkindik zhana suyuu» (Freedom and Love) took place in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.

Release of the book is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The Embassy of Hungary in the Kyrgyz Republic presented 100 copies of the book to the Ministry of Education and Science for transfer to school libraries.

The ministry added that the two countries are developing strategic partnership in the field of education, including the allocation of scholarships for study at Hungarian universities. Since 2017, at least 488 students have been sent to Hungary, the 1st Kyrgyz-Hungarian Rector’s Conference was held, a Consortium of Kyrgyz-Hungarian Universities was formed, the parties handed over materials on Kyrgyz and Hungarian culture to the universities of the two countries; the Hungarian language is taught at the Osh State University and the Kyrgyz State University.

Head of Agriculture Ministry inspects repair of canals in Chui district

The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov inspected the repair of irrigation canals in Chui district and their readiness for spring field work. Press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

The official got acquainted with agricultural work on plowing, preparation for the irrigation season of on-farm and inter-farm canals — irrigation canals of Iskrinsky rural administration. He visited Don canal in Kegety rural area, for the concreting of 2.8 kilometers of which 19,038 million soms were allocated from the republican budget. To date, 2.3 kilometers have been concreted. The canal will be put into operation in the near future. It will provide water to 2,420 hectares of arable land.

The minister and presidential envoy to Chui region, Kanat Dzhumagaziev, got acquainted with the project on concreting Osman-Khan-Artyk canal. Restoration of the 22.6-kilometer canal is estimated at $3 million. After reconstruction, it will provide water to 8,000 hectares of arable land.

Corruption in Tazalyk: Ryspek Sarpashev compensates part of damage to state

The ex-director of Tazalyk municipal enterprise, Ryspek Sarpashev, partially compensated damage to the state. Own sources in law enforcement agencies informed 24.kg news agency.

«It is known that Ryspek Sarpashev paid 5,167,500 soms. He will be under house arrest until April 9,» the sources said.

The Pervomaisky District Court of the capital confirmed this information.

Recall, the State Committee for National Security detained Ryspek Sarpashev on March 24. A criminal case was initiated against him on the facts of misappropriation and embezzlement of entrusted property, as well as abuse of official position.

It was found out that Ryspek Sarpashev, being the director of the municipal enterprise, in 2017-2018, for the purpose of personal enrichment, entered into a preliminary criminal conspiracy with individual employees of Tazalyk, abusing his official position, unreasonably wrote off auto parts, fuel and lubricants for non-working special equipment (garbage trucks, dump trucks, trucks).

Ryspek Sarpashev was the director of Tazalyk several times. He headed the company from 2010 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2018. From August 2018 to October 2019, he worked as Vice Mayor of Bishkek. In 2019, he became the head of Tazalyk again and worked in the position until 2021.
